Founding Designer

Shape how Backoffice looks, feels, and works alongside the founders, from the ground up.

Design Vilnius · Hybrid Full-time

Most software in hospitality looks like it was designed in 2008. That’s our opportunity. We’re building the operating system for the industry and we want a designer who can make the right thing also look like the obvious one.

You’ll be our first. No system to inherit, no team to join, no rules set before you.

What you will do

The product surface is wide and data-dense. Scheduling, dashboards, forms, role-based views, onboarding. That’s where the real work lives, and where the first 90 days go. Brand, marketing, and ad creative come next, once the product foundation holds.

  • Own product UX end to end. The system future hires build on gets set by you.
  • Get close to users. Managers and operators running four disconnected tools at once. Watch them work, design it out.
  • Shape the brand as we grow. Careers site, marketing, decks, ad creative. Not first, but yours when it’s time.
  • Work directly with the founders and the engineers who ship what you design.

You will thrive here if

  • You’ve shipped real product, not redesigns and case studies. Your work has users who depend on it.
  • You care about taste and systems equally. You notice the 4px misalignment, and you build the component that stops it happening twice.
  • You know how to make density calm. Tables, scheduling, forms that do real work. You don’t confuse simple with sparse.
  • You run research like you run Figma. Calls with users, session replays, real interest in whether the thing you shipped actually worked.

Bonus points

  • A design system you set up or maintained that engineers actually shipped against.
  • Motion fluency in Framer, After Effects, Rive, or similar. We want polish that isn’t a Figma animation.
  • Experience with B2B data-dense surfaces: scheduling, admin, analytics, procurement.
  • Someone close to you in hospitality, so you can watch the product being used in the wild.

The deal

We are pre-seed. Two co-founders, first engineers landing now, paying customers that include two Michelin-starred kitchens and growing restaurant groups. Michelin isn’t a bragging point. It’s a standard we have to meet. If pre-seed risk terrifies you, we’re not the right room. If a blank canvas is the only environment where you’ll do your best work, we probably are.

Hybrid in Vilnius. Two or three days in the room with the team, whatever shape fits the work. Relocation considered for the right person.

Perks

The AI toolbelt

Cursor GitHub Copilot Manus

We don't gatekeep the tools that make you faster. Top tier of every AI on the market, no approval hell. If a better one ships next week, we add it.

Tech & tools

The gear you'd buy yourself

Whatever you need to do the work well, on your desk day one. No budget theatre, no asking around, no forms. Replaced before it starts getting in the way.

Health

Real health coverage

Private insurance in the tier that actually covers things. Not the cheapest we could get away with.

Growth

A budget for getting better

We're not at flying-you-to-conferences scale yet, and we'll say so. But anything that makes you a sharper designer gets a yes, not a form.

Rest

Real time off

Well above the Lithuanian minimum. We trust you to take what you need, when you need it. Burnout is a planning failure, not a virtue.

Flexibility

Your day is yours

Flexible hours within the hybrid frame. Sick days are sick days, no apologies. We trust you to manage your own time.

How we hire

One portfolio review, one call with the founders, references, offer. No take-homes, no multi-round panels, no design-system test. If your work shows what we need to see, we talk. If we like each other, we make you an offer.

One honest thing

You won’t have design peers on the team. No system to inherit, no manager to escalate to, no reviewer before the founders see the work. That’s freeing if you’ve been waiting for it, and honestly lonely if you thrive on critique culture. We’ll get you close to the product, the users, and the engineers shipping what you design. We won’t pretend we can be your design critic. If you need that, you’ll bring it in from outside.
